"Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives… you are now in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours… You the mothers. Who sent their sons from far away countries wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives in this land they have become our sons as well." - Ataturk 1934
Anonymous: how did you shoot 5sos like did you work for a company and they sorted it out for you? or did you contact the band management or the touring company like i just really wanna take photos of them live but i don't know where to start :( i have my own camera and everything
I was in touch with their agent who put me onto their manager at the time and he was so kind to give me access to shoot the show. Since, I take it that you’re just wanting to start off, I strongly suggest that you start shooting for a publication who will help you with getting access to shows. Shoot local shows and small bands, prove that you can take on shooting a band as big as 5sos and then you will have earned your place and your pub will give you the access you want.
Anonymous: omg help me sarah i'm shooting my first show for fasterlouder and i'm too embarrassed to ask them for help... how do i submit the photos I shot for them? they organised the pass for me, i took the photos, now what??? I feel so dumb, normally I just email them in to the editor but i don't understand FL.... ?
OMG ANON! Haha you don’t need to be on anon yo!!!
Do you have an account at FL? If you have a contributors account with FL at the top right part of the page there should be a “MANAGE” tab and through there you go to “Upload Galleries” and upload your photos and fill in the deets. I haven’t shot for FL in such a long time- so hard to get gigs with them nowadays so congrats!
Let me know if you need anymore help and don’t be affraid to ask ‘em questions!!!
Of course I loved Turkey! It is such a beautiful country, people are lovely, culture is lovely and the landscapes are magical. I’m planning to make a little video montage of my trip when things cool down a bit :)
